Introducing the Spring 2021 Outdoor Challenge for all Scout Units in the Connecticut Yankee Council

It’s time to put OUTING back in Scouting, and get outdoors

Get your Unit outdoors and earn a patch award!  AND if your Unit holds an FOS presentation, you get discounts on each patch ordered.

Patches can be ordered online (here) until July 31.

How to earn the award (patch)

1. Plan and hold at least one outdoor event each month between March and June 2021. No more than two of the events may be a regular unit meeting; at least two of the events must be an outdoor activity (other than a regular unit meeting).
2. Plan at least one outdoor event each month between July and September 2021. This can include Scouts BSA Resident Camp, Cub Scout Family Camp, Cub Scout Day Camp.
3. The deadline to apply for the award *& order patches is July 31.
4. Price: $5.00 per patch. Limit of two patches per registered member (Scout and Scouter).

Price reductions:

1. If a unit holds an FOS presentation^ and raises an average of at least $5 per registered youth member ~ , take $1.00 off for each patch ordered.
2. If a unit holds an FOS presentation^ and raises an average of at least $20 per registered youth member ~, take $2.00 off for each patch ordered.
3. If a unit holds an FOS presentation^ and raises an average of at least $50 per registered youth member ~, take $4.00 off for each patch ordered.
4. Price reductions only available to registered Scout units within Connecticut Yankee Council.

^ Can be in-person or virtual, between January 1 and June 30, 2021; can also include unit participation in the Ignite Scouting FOS event on April 8
