The Scouting movement has advanced through the efforts and dedication of many volunteers. Often recruited with a request for “an hour a week commitment” many have gone on to make Scouting and service to youth in other organizations their lifetime passion.
The BSA established the Silver Beaver Award to recognize noteworthy service to youth by registered volunteer Scouters. This prestigious award is the highest BSA award authorized to be awarded at the Council level. Our award recipients are presented the Silver Beaver at the annual volunteer recognition dinner in January.
Anyone having knowledge of a Scouter’s exceptional service may recommend them for award of the Silver Beaver. A nomination packet is available at by clicking here or from the Council Service Center.
A selection board will consider all Silver Beaver nominations received in the Council office by November 12, 2020.
There are hundreds of eligible and deserving Scouters working in the units and districts. Now is the time to show them how much we appreciate their efforts in service to youth.
Take the time to nominate them today.
